Scotland The Ultimate Golf Vacation Destination
De
Luxe Sample Itinerary
Myres Castle offers the ultimate unique luxury
experience. This beautifully restored 16th Century castle is ideal for
groups of eight or more as guests can enjoy the sumptuous facilities on
an exclusive basis. Furthermore it is exceptionally well located for golf
at St. Andrews, Kingsbarns, Carnoustie and Gleneagles.
Guests can look forward to exquisitely and
individually decorated rooms, fine dining using the freshest local produce
and the most beautiful grounds.
A typical golf tour that we can arrange
using Myres as a base is as follows :-
Day 1
Arrive at Edinburgh Airport where you are welcomed by a Drumgolf
Representative and escorted to your executive mini coach which is fitted
with tables, TV/DVD and a well stocked fridge. Transfer to Myres Castle
(45 mins). Dinner at Myres Castle.
Day 2
After breakfast travel to Kingsbarns (45 mins) and play arguably Scotland’s
finest links course constructed in the last 100 years. After golf enjoy
some sightseeing in the picturesque fishing villages of the East Neuk
of Fife before returning to Myres Castle.
Day 3
After breakfast travel to St. Andrews and play the Old Course. A pilgrimage
to the Home of Golf to play the ‘Old Lady’ is the highlight
of the trip. After lunch in the St. Andrews Links Trust Clubhouse
a round
on the New Course, a fine traditional links course which runs adjacent
to the Old, completes a memorable days golf.
Day 4
After breakfast travel to Carnoustie (45 mins) and take on the toughest
Open Championship Links. Since its return to the Open rota in 1999
the
rough which destroyed the finest of Pro’s scorecards on that blustery
week in July has fortunately been cut back significantly. After your
round
you have the opportunity to visit Glamis Castle and gardens the idyllic
childhood home to the late Queen Mother.
Day 5
After breakfast travel inland to Gleneagles and the county of Perthshire.
James Braid designed Kings Course is a masterpiece with its spectacular
undulating layout matched by the breathtaking scenery. After your round
you can drive to Crieff and sample some fine malt whisky at the Glenturret
Whisky Distillery (Scotland's’ oldest Distillery) before heading
back to Myres for your final night.
Day 6
After breakfast return to Edinburgh airport for your homeward journey.
