Kingsbarns, nr St. Andrews :
Kingsbarns is only 6 miles from St. Andrews and is well worth the phenomenal hype it has received. Having opened in July 2000 it is now being mentioned in the same breath as Turnberry, Dornoch and Cruden Bay. With its true links turf, contoured rolling fairways and majestic vistas of the sea this course is destined to be a classic. The sea plays an integral role in the course design and the sandy dunes also feature prominently in enhancing the course landscape. As Sir Michael Bonallack (recently retired Secretary of the R&A) remarks - “Kingsbarns might well be one of the last true seaside links sites capable of development in Scotland. It is an extraordinary setting”. It co hosted the richest ever European PGA event in October 2003 (The Alfred Dunhill Cup) and is set to be one of the qualifying courses for the 2010 Open Championship. Length 6652 yards, Par 72.
