some breathtaking finishes. But none can match St Andrews for its stupendous atmosphere!

2005 signals the return of the great event to St Andrews which has an uncanny knack of producing memorable and great Champions such as Bobby Jones (1927), Jack Nicklaus (1970 & 78) Seve Ballesteros (1984) & Tiger Woods (2000) to name but a few. Jack bows out at St Andrews to end what is arguably the most illustrious Open Championship career of any golfer. It is sure to be an emotional few days.

The popularity of the event has put unprecedented demand on accommodation during the week of the Open, and people are now having to book as far afield as Edinburgh (over 50 miles away) to access a hotel room. However Drumgolf still retains an attractive selection of golf packages within easy striking distance of the course. Included in some of the packages are prebooked tee times on two excellent local courses. Kingsbarns is a truly beautiful links which is now rated in the Top 50 courses in the World. It has for the past three years co-hosted the Alfred Dunhill Championship, one of the richest tournaments on the European PGA schedule. Crail is a delightfully charming traditional links which is just a few miles further on from Kingsbarns. As well as being one of the most panoramic courses in Scotland it is also the 7th oldest golf course in the world having been instituted in 1786

Rufflets Country House This is an exceptional country house hotel which is rated 5 star by the Scottish Tourist Board. It is a member of Luxury Hotels of the World and as well as an exceptional restaurant possesses beautiful gardens. It is located just outside St Andrews 1.5 miles from the course. A 4 Course dinner is included in the package on each night of your stay.

Inn on North Street There are less than 300 hotel bedrooms in St Andrews within 5 minutes walk from the Old Course and we retain some of this prized accommodation at the Inn on North Street. This charming 3 star property could not be more centrally located. It is a friendly and vibrant little inn with only 10 ensuite bedrooms each kitted out with DVD and satellite TV. The Inn has a basement bar and popular restaurant.

Invercarse Hotel, Dundee 11miles from St Andrews This Hotel was originally a silk merchant’s mansion and it retains the comfort and elegance of its Victorian origins. The Invercarse possesses secluded gardens and commanding views of the River Tay. The double rooms that we have booked are ideal for single occupancy.
