The West
What with Royal Troon golf club being scene of the 2004 Open, Prestwick golf club hosting the very first Open and Turnberry the venue for one of the most famous Opens (the 1977 duel in the Sun between Nicklaus and Watson) there is no mystery to why this is one of Scotland's most popular golfing destinations. Beyond the Open Golf Championship courses there are a whole spectrum of other great Golf Clubs to discover and if you are feeling adventurous you may even consider a more isolated but fantastic golfing treasure - none other than Machrihanish golf course on the Mull of Kintyre peninsula in West Scotland.
