What with Royal Troon golf club being scene of the 2004 Open, Prestwick golf club hosting the very first Open and Turnberry the venue for one of the most famous Opens (the 1977 duel in the Sun between Nicklaus and Watson) there is no mystery to why this is one of Scotland's most popular golfing destinations.
