Dirleton Castle
You may want to visit the beautiful gardens and ruins of this castle which is situated just opposite your hotel. It is a romantic castle dating from the 13th century with 15th to 17th century additions. First besieged in 1298 by Edward I. Destroyed in 1650. The adjoining gardens include an early 20th century Arts and Crafts garden and a restored Victorian garden. Also a 17th century bowling green.
