Restaurant of the Season 2023 – Rogue, St Andrews

Hiding under the historic Westport Arch in St Andrews, Rogue is many a golfer’s dream hideaway with some of the best Surf n Turf in town. The tone is set from the very moment you arrive when you are greeted at the doorway by the daily cuts of meat which are keeping cool in the restaurant’s refrigerator, which is on full display to any passers-by! As you move inside, the restaurant has a cosy, intimate feel and it is elegant, yet it maintains a relaxed ambience, mainly created by its warm and welcoming staff who offer attention in a knowledgeable, yet unstuffy way.

The menu comprises of some of the finest, local seafood available with delicious scallops, langoustines, lobster, oak-smoked salmon and curried monkfish to give you a taste. The carnivores can enjoy a fabulous mix of dry-aged beef with a choice of flat irons, sirloins and fillets, moving up to the big cuts of Chateaubriand and Tomahawk or there’s Steak Odyssey for those who can’t decide and want to try a bit of everything with a full compliment of sauces too!

And if that’s not enough to impress you, the owners have fitted a gin still in the back of the restaurant where they produce their very own ‘Felons Gin’. So why not start the night (or finish the meal) with one of Rogue’s home grown G&Ts or one of the several cocktails they have invented at their cocktail bar!
