Turnberry - Scene of 3 Open Championships the most memorable being the great Watson v Nicklaus head to head in 1977 and venue for the 2009 Open Championship. The magnificent Ailsa course and sister Kintyre course offer breathtaking views over Turnberry Bay. Rated in the top 20 golf courses in the world, the courses are only available to hotel guests. Prestwick - Hosted the 1st Open in 1860. This historic golf links retains many of its original characteristics and eccentricities and still constitutes a major challenge to the modern day golfer with its exposure to the elements, blind shots and devilishly small greens. 6544yds sss 72
Western Gailes (Ayrshire) - An Open Championship final qualifying venue when Royal Troon hosts the Open. A very hospitable Club and an impressive traditional links. Many of our clients are now rating this their favourite experience on the west coast.
Royal Troon - Established 1878 but not on the Open circuit until 1923. It is now a regular and popular venue. Its many renowned golf holes include 'the postage stamp', famous the world over. The Portland course is included in the green fees.
Accommodation Selection
Turnberry Resort, Ayrshire ***** - Turnberry is something to behold with its undoubted comfort matched only by the breathtaking views overlooking the Ailsa and Kintyre courses. In addition to two fine Championship links courses the resort possesses a state of the art golf academy and impressive Spa facilities. There are two excellent restaurants and Glasgow airport is just over an hour's drive away.
Piersland Hotel, Troon - The Piersland Hotel, Troon is a former home of the Johnnie Walker family. It is an A listed building which retains all the original features including wood panelling, stone fireplaces and Jacobean embroidery. There is a great choice of accommodation with stylishly decorated bedrooms in the main house, lodge and cottage accommodation. The house is set in glorious grounds with a sun-facing terrace which you can enjoy in the warmer months. More importantly to golfers, this fine hotel is within walking distance of Royal Troon and with its excellent selection of rooms including cottage accommodation provides great comfort in a prime spot!
Tour Itinerary
DAY 1Arrive in Scotland where you will be warmly welcomed by a Drumgolf Representative who will assist with the collection of your rental vehicle. Travel to Turnberry and play Ailsa Championship Course at Turnberry. Stay at the 5 star Turnberry Resort x 1 night.
DAY 2
Play Prestwick. Stay at the 3 star Piersland House Hotel x 3 nights.
DAY 3
Play Western Gailes
DAY 4
Play Royal Troon

Depart Homeward Bound
