Golfing in the St Andrews/ East Neuk Area

Lundin Links

Situated in the heart of the East Neuk of Fife, Lundin Links is approximately 25 minutes’ drive from St Andrews. It has historically hosted Open Final Qualifying and has been voted amongst the top links courses in Britain by the Golf Monthly magazine.

Crail

Instituted in 1786, Crail is only a short course at under 6000yds, however plenty of fun and yet another links course where exposure to the wind can make a mockery of the low handicapper. Commanding an inspiringly panoramic position, the sea features at almost every hole. The seventh oldest Golf Club in the world.

The Dukes, St Andrews

A beautifully conditioned course which lies 2 miles inland from St. Andrews and enjoys panoramic views of the town and bay. Designed by former Open Champion Peter Thomson, this course provides a pleasant contrast to the traditional links which dominate St. Andrews. No caddies, but motorised carts available.

Dumbarnie Links

Set to open in 2020, this links course, located approximately 25 minutes from St Andrews, has a mile and a half of sea frontage with panoramic views over the Firth of Forth. Its dual elevations, which are connected by a flowing escarpment, allows for a number of elevated tees where holes play directly towards panoramic views of the expansive Firth of Forth. Furthermore, a number of tees and greens are in close proximity to the water. In fact, fourteen of the holes have views of the Bay and the Firth of Forth.

Kittocks Course (Fairmont St Andrews Resort

A Bruce Devlin creation with a dramatic position overlooking the North Sea. An excellent challenge in breathtaking surroundings.

Elie

Right from the moment the Starter checks it is clear to tee off by using his periscope to view over the brow of a hill on the 1st tee, Elie proves to be a unique experience. The 4 holes running alongside the coast are particularly memorable. Only 13 miles from St. Andrews, situated in a charming seaside village which is also noted for a great pub called ‘The Ship Inn.’

Kingsbarns, nr St. Andrews

Kingsbarns is only 6 miles from St. Andrews. With its true links turf, contoured rolling fairways and majestic vistas of the sea this course is a consistent favourite with Drumgolf customers. The sea plays an integral role in the course design and the sandy dunes also feature prominently in enhancing the course landscape. Co-host for the annual Dunhill Links Championship. As Sir Michael Bonallack (retired Secretary of the R&A) remarks - "Kingsbarns might well be one of the last true seaside links sites capable of development in Scotland. It is an extraordinary setting".

Strathtyrum

Designed by Donald Steel to offer enjoyable golf, the course complements the tougher, championship layouts at the Home of Golf. It is shorter, and has only 15 bunkers, yet still requires considerable skill to be negotiated successfully

Torrance Course

Part of the Fairmont St Andrews Resort. Designed by Sam Torrance. Although possessing a wonderfully panoramic coastal position this is not a links course. A beautifully balanced 18 holes with an imaginative and challenging layout. This is a current Qualifying Course for the Open Championship.
